Cardamon Orange Biscuits

These fragrant cardamom and warmly spiced orange scones have a delicate, fresh flavor and just the right crumbly-moist texture. Pairs perfectly with my homemade chai recipe!

Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 5 tbsp cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 + 1/8 cups heavy cream
  • 1 orange zest
  • 1 tsp orange juice
  • ICING INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 cup Confectionary sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cardamon
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 1/2 an orange- juiced
  • Top with more zest and cardamon
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk the flour with the sugar, baking powder, cardamom and salt.
  3. Using your fingertips, blend in the butter until pea-size pieces form.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and orange juice, zest just until a dough forms.
  5. Pat the dough into a 1-inch-thick round, about 9 inches in diameter. Cut the into 6 equal sticks 1inch thick.
  6. Transfer to the prepared sheet and bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden. Transfer to a rack to cool slightly before serving.
  7. Combine all ingredients to make icing.
  8. Top with icing and enjoy!
