Spiced Mixed Nuts

My spiced mixed nuts has a perfect combination of smokey and earthy flavours and makes a great mid afternoon snack. This recipe is so versatile, you can easily change up the nuts and seasonings to suit your preferences. (Gluten free and Vegan)

Ingredients
  • 2 cup raw mixed nuts (I used pistachios, almond, cashews)
  • 1 tbsp asafoetida (aka hing)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. On a cast iron skillet, heat the sesame oil on medium.
  2. Roast the asafoetida, paprika, cumin, chili powder for 1 mins. Add nuts and mix until coated.
  3. Add maple syrup, sriracha, and nutritional yeast, roast until nuts brown, ~3 mins.
  4. Add salt and pepper to taste. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week. Enjoy!
