ABOUT ME

Hi there! I’m Jessny, and welcome to Make it Brunch! I am a Toronto based Registered Dietitian and recipe developer with a passion for photography. I started this blog to share my wholesome recipes and love for cooking and wellness. My whole life I’ve grown up as a vegetarian eating foods from around the world, including Mauritian (my background), Italian, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, and the list goes on. Being a vegetarian, it has motivated me to challenge my creativity in cooking in order to show how simple and delicious vegetarian & vegan cooking can be.

My absolute favourite meal of the day is brunch!

“I’ve never had a bad day that started with brunch”

You’ll find many recipes to be brunch inspired. I focus on whole and plant-based ingredients, and only recommend products that I, myself would use.  Balance is important in nourishing your mind and body. So some recipes might be healthy-inspired and some might be treats for your soul! I believe living a balanced lifestyle shouldn’t feel like a chore, it should be fun.

During the day I work as a pediatric Dietitian with complex children. When I’m not busy working, cooking and blogging, you can catch me binge watching Netflix (in my PJs of course), trying new brunch spots around the city, and traveling as much as I can! I’m also a passionate dancer, mainly Latin, fusion hip hop and dipping into classical Bollywood (so look out for that).

I truly hope you find enjoyment in recreating (and of course eating!) my recipes. Thank you for being here!

“You had me at brunch!”

Here are some fun facts about me:

  1. My favourite fruit is mango. My favourite type of food is North Indian. My favourite meal is pizza. Could I be more confusing?!
  2. I have a small addiction to anything Adidas. I secretly wish I was an Adidas brand-ambassador.
  3. I’m a bit of a neat freak and love having a clean and organized home. Think I was Marie Kondo in my last life!
  4. My guilty pleasures are: M&M’s- only the peanut ones, listening to 90’s hip hop and dancing like no one’s watching, and buying a new pair of kicks.
  5. My personal quote to live by- “Life is all about balance. Listen to your body, be mentally & physically kind to yourself (and others), and find your own path, don’t follow someone else’s.”
