Frequently Asked Questions

Expand All:
Can I make the smashed edamame spread ahead of time?

Yes! The spread keeps well in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container. If it thickens too much, just stir in a little water or lemon juice before using.

I don’t have a food processor, can I still make this?

Absolutely! Just use a fork or potato masher to smash the edamame and avocado together. The texture will be a bit chunkier, but it’ll still be delicious!

What can I use instead of sourdough toast?

Any bread works! Try it on whole-grain, gluten-free, or even a toasted pita. If you're low-carb, you can scoop the edamame spread onto cucumber slices or rice cakes instead.

Can I make this without tahini or harissa?

Of course! If you’re out of tahini, swap in almond butter or hummus for a similar creaminess. For a milder version, leave out the harissa or use a pinch of smoked paprika instead.
